Why You Need to Verify Your Identity
Companies House identity verification became a legal requirement on 18 November 2025 under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act. Every director and person with significant control of a UK company must verify their identity and obtain a Companies House personal code.
Required for every director and PSC when forming a new limited company.
All existing directors and PSCs must verify by their deadline during the transition period.
We verify both UK and non-UK residents — overseas documents are accepted.
What Happens If You Don’t Verify
Failing to verify your identity and obtain a personal code can lead to serious consequences:
Identity Verification Packages
One-time fee — choose the speed that suits you.
Verification is carried out by Ulusoy Tax as a Companies House Authorised Corporate Service Provider (Agent No. AP020720). Each person is verified individually — place one order per director or PSC. If we are unable to complete your verification — for example, because the required documents cannot be provided — your fee is refunded in full.
What You Will Need
A fully digital process — no appointments, no paperwork in the post.
A valid passport. UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and EU photocard driving licences are also accepted.
A recent document showing your home address.
A photo of you holding your photo ID.
A short video call so we can confirm the photo on your ID is you.
Step-by-step instructions are emailed to you after payment. If your documents are not in English, please send an English-language version where your bank or issuing authority can provide one — for example, an English bank statement through internet banking. We will tell you exactly what is needed before you send anything.

No. We verify both UK and non-UK officers, and the whole process is remote — there is no need to visit us or post anything. A passport from any country is accepted. If your documents are not in English, we will ask for an English-language version where your bank or issuing authority can provide one.
A passport (any country), plus a recent document showing your home address — for example a bank statement, utility bill or council tax bill. UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and EU photocard driving licences can be used in place of a passport. We also ask for a selfie holding your photo ID and a short video check. Full instructions are emailed to you after payment.
The Standard service is completed within 5–7 working days. The Priority service is completed within 24–48 hours. Both timeframes start once we have received your complete documents, not from the moment of payment.
Companies House sets a fixed list of documents that can be used for identity verification. If you cannot provide a document from that list, or if the documents you send do not meet the standard, we will tell you before we submit anything — and refund your fee in full. We do not submit a verification we are not satisfied with.
Once your identity is verified, we send your Companies House personal code to you by email.
Yes. Each person is verified individually — simply place one order for each director or PSC who needs to be verified.
